RESUMO

15 children and adolescents with impulse control disorders (mean age 12.9 years) were examined. These disorders were presented as dromomania, kleptomania, aggressive-sadistic actions, tricholillomania, pyromania; a combination of different types was observed in some cases. Schizophrenia was diagnosed in 7 cases, affective disorders--in 8 patients. Independently of the nosologic unity of the disease, development of the impulse control disorders took place in affective disorders which manifested either by monopolar course (depression) (11 cases), or by bypolar attacks with unclear outlines of the phases (4 patients). Psychopathology of impulse control disorders in children and juveniles was analogous to that of the adults, however, their structure wasn't so complex and development of the phases wasn't so clear.

RESUMO

76 schizophrenics with obsessive symptoms were examined for effect Zeigarnik. This effect was found in the patients with phobic disturbances with relevant defense measures evidencing adequate hierarchic structure of motivation. The absence of Zeigarnik effect in patients with obsession transforming into conditions close to catatonic stereotypes reflects distinct restructuring and defective hierarchy of the patients motivation sphere.

RESUMO

Based on psychopathological and clinicocatamnestic studies made in 96 patients suffering from schizophrenia associated with obsessions running mainly an attack-like course the psychopathological characteristics of obsessions were specified and their relation to other psychopathological disorders was determined. In part of cases, obsession underwent qualitative changes acquiring the character of disturbances similar to value judgements, delirium and catatonic stereotypies. The typology of obsessions associated with schizophrenia was elaborated; two types of obsessions were distinguished: obsessions with goal-oriented protection measures and obsessions with the development of disturbances superficially similar to catatonic stereotypies. Obsessions and their course were found to be related to the degree of personality changes.

RESUMO

The "Zeigarnic effect" is well known in psychology. It consists in the fact that incomplete actions are remembered better than complete ones. The conducted study concerned 94 individuals: 30 normals and 64 schizophrenic patients (34 with pseudoneurotic and 30 with affective-delusional syndromes). The ratio of reproduced incomplete and complete tasks in the group of normals was equal to 1,41, while in the group of schizophrenic patients with a pseudoneurotic syndrome it amounted to 1,29 and in patients with an affective delusional syndrome to 1,1. The behaviour of the examinees during the experiment was distinctly different. The results of the studies point to disorders in the motivational sphere of schizophrenic patients and is especially marked in patients with an affective-delusional syndrome.
